The boat.

Harbinger is a 1977 Westsail 32 hull #731. We appear to be her fifth owners and as best as I can tell the last two let her go somewhat. There was or is water damage and leaks throughout, but not severe. I think we got her just in time. The motor appears to be original and so we are thinking of replacing it with an electric one or just removing it all together. The rigging is in fair shape with a wooden mast and boom all tied together with stainless steel hardware. The decks turned out to be solid during the survey and they have no teak. The hull showed half a dozen blisters on the starboard side but they may be only paint in nature. The rudder has some larger blisters on the port side but again not real serious. We obtained an estimate to do a entire bottom paint and blister removal and surprisingly it was under a thousand.

The interior is mostly white oak followed by white laminated panels of 1" in thickness. All the counter tops are coper and have a fantastic patina, that said there are some very small areas where the coper is stained green and white from the water damage. The head was very 70s with no holding tank and so we have since replaced it with a composting head. The laws today are very different. The birthing areas need some attention as we redo the poor workmanship of the past owner. Overall she is in great shape structurally. She just needs a little love and no more shortcuts to get her back into prime condition.
